  1. This was a real life “Casey At The Bat” moment. Two teammates from the Los Angeles Angels going head to head to finish up an incredibly fun tournament. Yes, the real winner here was baseball⚾️.

  2. You just gotta be happy for Japan. It's like when your son grows up, becomes a man and finally strikes you out. Immense pride for the fellas.

  3. I had the opportunity to attend this game and watching it live rekindled my love for the sport, the atmosphere, the respect everybody had for each other, the crowd growing crazy chanting USA. One of the greatest moments in my life. The energy that was in the stadium this at bat was surreal, I have never experienced anything like it. I even have a video of Pedro Martinez coming out and hanging out by the ball boy in left field watching this at bat. I recorded this at bat too and have been replaying it nonstop. I cannot wait for the next wbc!

  4. Saw him hit an absolute banger in Seattle. Didn’t quite appreciate the moment as it happened but I’ll be damned if I don’t tell that story for years to come.

  5. Born, Raised in The USA…. Super Happy for this Great, and Well Deserving Japanese Team!!!
Made me Think of Welch and The Regaroo!!!! Yah… I go 65……

  6. In 3:51 the catcher Yuhei Nakamura is hugging Takuya Kai, who is the catcher that caught both Shohei's starts in this WBC. Since Nakamura never catches for Shohei, Kai is the one who gave him Shohei's signs and helped him prepared for that inning.
And the one joined later in the hugging is Ukyo Shuto, who is the one scored the winning run in the semifinal. And he's also a teammate to Kai in NPB so I believe they know each other very well before this tournament.

  7. When Ohtani is there he is asking the coach.

How do you want me to win it?

    Hit a HR in walkoff?

    Or

Become a closer and end the game with a strikeout?

    Nuts….!!!

  8. i think every fails to notice on the overlay on the last pitch. Trout had the exact same swing for both pitches. That dude is a machine, but it's hard to hit world class stuff and good pitching will always beat good hitting.
