  1. They will have fun opening them!! It’s so cool that you make holidays exciting for kids. It gives them incentive to learn more about the holiday too!! Do you decorate at all for Ramadan?
Hoping you and your family have a blessed Ramadan Mimo!! Thank you for sharing content with us ❤

  2. I'm Catholic & well aware that we stole from other faiths their celebrations. I worked with a lovely Muslim man during Ramadan. It was just the two of us, we both smoked back then & I offered to cover while he went out & then I'd go. He informed me he couldn't because it was Ramadan. So I didn't go either or smoke on my breaks. Why make it harder for him.

Anyway I asked him about Ramadan & we were comparing & contrasting our faiths. Really there is more in common than not. Suddenly our manager calls me over & orders me to the office, because of our conversation. Apparently it was racist, I was completely confused as was he & he defended me. Thankfully, I was worried I'd missed something. The exact thing I said I still remember 17 years after leaving that job was asking when do children start the fast? Then I asked about his wife who was pregnant did she still fast or were there different rules. Because I knew she had really bad morning sickness. They had 3 kids & this was the 4th or I maybe wrong & they already had 4 it's been a long time & we only keep in touch over FB, I know they have six children now & 2 beautiful grandchildren. My manager was genuinely annoyed that he took my side, she actually told him he didn't have to & she would switch me with someone else if he was uncomfortable at which point he said she was the only one uncomfortable with us talking Clearly the case as she said it wasn't a suitable conversation to have at work. It stuck with me because her reaction & POV is how evil people in power have managed to hide their true intent & unite people to fight their war, using religion. While the prophets, apostles, those who preached & wrote down the teachings of God taught love & acceptance.

The Torah, Quran & Bible teachings, had to be completely twisted & misrepresented for any harm to be done in their name. The reality is & always was greed of those in power, who always wanted more. They united people using fear of the unknown, of all things other, turning fear into hate.

The internet & social media has given a voice to everyone. Allowing us to learn about other faiths, other cultures, other people & in doing discovering all the things we have in common, learning from each other. Supporting, comforting, giving advice to strangers.

Learning about the beauty & meaning behind celebrations & holidays we know nothing about. So thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing how your beautiful family celebrates Ramadan. Along with all the stories you share, the knowledge you teach & the beautiful cakes you make, you have an incredible talent.

    Take care.

  3. Ramadan Mubarak & Salam Alaikum!! I think It's Very Sweet That You Do These Things For Your Children…& No , It Isn't Anything Like Christmas Because We Are Muslims & OBSERVE RAMADAN & CELEBRATE EID . It Is The Love Of A Mom For Her Children & INSHA'ALLAH, THEY WILL ALWAYS HAVE MEMORIES OF THE WAYS THEIR MOMMY LOVED THEM , TAUGHT THEM, & LET THEM KNOW THAT IT IS OKAY TO GIGGLE & LAUGH WITH LOVE & AS A FAMILY EVEN THOUGH WE ARE MUSLIM !!
In addition to those memories, THEY WILL ALSO HAVE THESE VERY SPECIAL MEMORIES OF ALL OF THE RAMADAN'S , EIDS , B- DAYS CELEBRATIONS, & ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS THAT THEIR VERY HAPPY , & CREATIVELY TALENTED MOTHER WANTED THEM TO HAVE , BECAUSE SHE LOVED THEM & FOUND BEAUTIFUL WAYS WITHIN THE DEEN TO SHOW THEM SO. I DON'T KNOW YOU PERSONALLY , BUT I FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE IN THE BELIEF THAT YOU ARE NOT RAISING CHILDREN THAT " JUST TAKE ", BUT THAT KNOW THE IMPORTANCE OF PAYING ZAKAT , AS WELL AS CONTRIBUTING TO THE UMMAH YEAR ROUND. ALLAH'S (SWT) BLESSINGS TO YOU & YOUR FAMILY & MAY ALLAH GRANT US ALL EASE. AMEEN.

  4. Masha’Allah you’re amazing mom Mimo! May Allah swt make it easy on all of us and accept our prayers and fasts! Ameen

  5. I love it that you still do this for your older kids too. I know it's not really like Christmas but I'm reminded of the year my grandma asked me if I was too old for a Christmas stocking and I just looked at her with a sad face, so yeah, I have three kids of my own but my grandma still fills my stocking.

  6. I wonder how long before catholics start doing this for Lent. I'd sure as heck fast for a few gift cards 😂.

  7. Thanks for sharing your traditions with us 🙂 I've never seen those lantern boxes, but I love the idea. I immediately thought they kinda reminded me of our advent calenders somehow 😅 You know that advent season used to be for fasting/lenting as well (still might be in some Christian denominations), it's also currently Lent (fasting before Easter) and there's fast breaking on Sundays and the Fasting leads towards a real important religious holiday, too – I honestly think, we all got more in common than separates us all 🥰

  8. Thanku for sharing sister, I have bin a Muslim for only 2months now after being n atheist all my life. I absolutely love Islam .. N thanku for the tips cos it will be nice to give my kids something as I iam a single dad with 9 children n often don't give them much except for my ❤ thanku as I am still learning .

  9. Question. So I remember clearly how there was a fellow classmate who would fast. I’d always feel bad because he would sit with us in the cafeteria while everyone would eat and he would sit put his head down. We were around 8-10 years old. Does this vary from person to person if they want to fast or?
