This will only bring more despair for Thorfinn. Let's see how he navigates his new path, one that led to Thors's demise. It's a truly special character development right here. Thorfinn's quietness up until now makes this one sting. Goddamn.
The manga author just wrote saying that even he, being the writer of the oroginal story, cried watching this scenes in the anime, manga didn brought him to that. And how important to him is how people feel about this and his kon violence message.
This is one of the most beautiful pieces of film/anime I've ever seen.
