The only player's jersey deserved to be retired is 23 Bulls.
Removing numbers from any team is just irrational and make it hard for new players who want to wear specific numbers.
The franchise can show respect to their great players by other means like statues.

We were so absolutely spoiled getting to watch Bean and Pau dominate the league for three years. Was so bummed when Dallas knocked them out in the third year of the run but that aside, Pau is one of the best things that ever happened to the lakers organization. His unselfish team first attitude is something a lot of guys today should study. He understood what it meant to be a team first player and sacrificed so much to be a laker. A lot of people forget but he played on that awful 2014 team to honor his contract. This came after Kobe got hurt and the organization couldn’t fill the void left by Howard. Nowadays all the prima donnas would request a trade to a contender. He went on the next year to start the all star game as a bull. The fact he stayed on the lakers while in his prime and during the downswing shows how loyal and deserving he is to have 16 up there. One of the greatest lakers ever. Thank you Pau
