  1. I think the main difference is his hair is in a ponytail and the stubble, if his hair was down it'd definitely look a lot more like "thorfinn". Also, he's starting to resemble OG pops, for example, pause at 9:19, colour thorfinns hair black and and that's basically young-faced thors

  5. Yeah, even though we've been on this farm for a minute. We're getting some nice character development for Thornfinn, so I'll say it's worth it.

    If Thorfinn's mom is gone, I wonder how Ylva would react to his return. The conversation between Sverkel & Snake was really good.

  14. Just a heads up since the show isn't keeping you updated on the progression of time like the manga, it has been about five months total spent on the farm. From Einar's arrival in June of 1015 to the end of this ep taking place in October of 1015. Also, Canute becomes the King of England in 1018 and Harald is the King of Denmark (1015), which is where Ketil's farm is located. Hence why he's referred to as King.

  17. Probably my favorite episode, just because of the 2nd half. Snake and the old man might as well have been related, I think they have fealty for each other as "warriors". The old man was clearly a warrior based on the sword and spear on his wall, Snake likely respects him as a veteran, which is why he also showed respect to Thorfinn before.

  20. Lmao, I wouldn’t say the grandpa is woke. The Grandpa was talking about the cycle of having too much wealth and how it makes you never satisfied bc you’re scared of losing it, so you try to amass more wealth to compensate and the cycle continues. He didn’t say wealth was inherently a bad thing or that he should share it.

  23. The retainers weren't slaves but they are low on the totem poll, they work the farm for some money (like minimum wage). They finally have someone to pick on and treat poorly.

  25. 8:57 No time passed(<year). Thorfinn and Einar didn't changed or grew. Or, more accuratly – he grew before the season even started, like 2 years between season 1 and 2, and after that it's all the same year, span of 5 month. All his images in the opening and in this arc so far are the same Thorfinn. All he does is just pulling back his hair and letting his facial hair grow.

    It's a damn Berthold with wind blowing his hair back in the end of AOT season 3 all over again. Nobody could recognize him, even tho it was obvious who it is. But you gotta remember that it's animation – faces might looks inconsistent, you cant drew them perfectly same every time, if it's not a 3D model.

  26. 19:45 Retainers were never slaves. Maybe you mixed it up because there is at least one slave that earned his freedom, and because that because Einar once said that "They(retainers) are half-slaves themselves!"(because they don't own their land, they are giving a cut to Ketil).
    19:57 No, they have separate territories. If they were a slaves sharing a horse with other slaves would actually make it slower for them.
