Jokic is amazing!!!
It IS fair to judge Jokic by what he does in the playoffs – that is the ultimate test of greatness. MJ isn't the GOAT because of his regular season stats. Kobe, Timmy, Lebron, Shaq – all are judged by number of rings, by number of trips to the Finals, for dominance in the post-season. Otherwise, guys like Amare Stoudemire would be viewed as equals to Timmy, guys like Melo similar to Lebron, guys like AI equal to Kobe. That being said, I think Jokic will win a ring or two. What people don't appreciate enough is defense. I am not saying it's elite but he is surprisingly a good defender – he isn't athletic or exceedingly fast but he is smart enough to be in the right place in the right time and just alter shot selection enough to be a consistently good defender. His playmaking and scoring and rebounding is appreciated but not his defense. I bet a casual fan thinks he is a bad defender.
Hasn't great players been judged since the dawn of NBA basketball ? Yes its unfair in a sense because its a team sport. However Jokic has basically won everything else as far as NBA awards goes. Only question is if he can win a championship or not/

Assist is not everything for Point guard. If a point guard can score 25+ pts with 50/40/85(and less than 2.5 turnover per game) he is great no matter what. I understand assist is importnat but if a guard is smart(high bq) enough to do 25+ pts with 50/40/85, he would know the importance of getting teammates involved anyway. So if he at least records 4.5 assists a night that's good enough to be great.

Love joker, he's incredible, and already the best passing big man ever. Buttttt, it's time to get it done in the playoffs. Murray is back, they're at full strength. Don't get to be a multiple time MVP, and also get away with not making deep runs in the playoffs
Efficient, basketball winning triple doubles. That's the difference and I hope Jokic and the Nuggets are rewarded for it.
Greatest offensive player of all time
I think Jokic's lack of appreciation from a lot of people comes from the way he LOOKS when playing the game. I don't mean his skin color though that probably matters for some. It's because for the most part, all-time great players LOOK a certain way when playing the game. Jokic doesn't look like that. He looks lazy and casual and barely invested (even though that's not actually the case). I really think that contributes greatly to why people can't appreciate him and think he just accumulates empty stats.
He's great, no doubt…but Giannis is the best player in the NBA. Defense matters

It is without a doubt harder to average double digit assists than rebounds. Every year there's 1 to 4 players that have 10+ assists, but there's 10 to 14 players that have 10+ rebounds.
PLAY-OFFS excuse is really bad…BECAUSE he plays in the WEST COAST.
IF he played in the EAST he would get at least to the EC FINALS without even facing a good team.
IN the WEST he will probably get GSW in the 1st round.
