The Pink Floyd founder Roger Waters called for an immediate ceasefire in an address to the UN security council on Wednesday.

Speaking upon the invitation of the Russian ambassador to the council, Waters called on world leaders to ‘change course’, saying; ‘From the four billion or so brothers and sisters in this voiceless majority who together with the millions in the international anti-war movement represent a huge constituency, enough is enough.’
The US deputy ambassador to the UN, Richard Mills, responded by questioning Water’s credentials to address the council on the conflict and then deferred to the Ukrainian representative, Sergiy Kyslytsya, who accused the musician of unwittingly becoming a tool for Russian propaganda. ‘How sad for his former fans to see him accepting the role of just a brick in the wall – the wall of Russian disinformation and propaganda,’ said Kyslytsya.

Personally I’m all for Russia being defeated in Ukraine, however I do also understand that this war has to end sooner rather than later as we as a world need to put our resources towards countries that need help recovering from a disaster that couldn’t be prevented like the devastating earthquake that occurred in turkey and Syria. Also I believe that instead of all the hate that is being spread around the world we need to focus on the development of us as a race and come together as one species as in the end we are all human and everyone should be treated the same which means those that cause hate and violence should be held accountable and those that truly need our help should get our help as, in the words of the black eyed peas, “we’ve only got one world” and we don’t want to waste it by destroying each other.

I recommend to listen to the whole video. Very enlightening . There is maybe a feud between him and Gilmour, which is highly ironic, but his message is very important,. He speak truth for all of us who are voiceless, not only about war, but the general inequalities which are constantly raising.
