Prelati Thought She Broke Him… — Richard’s Unshakable Resolve 【Fate/Strange Fake】

“The past cannot change the King I chose to be.”

After witnessing the devastating truth of the Fourth Holy Grail War and the tragedy of Artoria Pendragon, Francesca Prelati expects Richard to crumble. Instead, the Lionheart delivers one of his most iconic moments yet.

Richard isn’t shaken by the “failure” of the past; he accepts it and doubles down on his loyalty to the present. Watch as he turns his back on the despair of the legend and asks Ayaka Sajyou the only question that matters: “Are you my Master?”

This clip showcases why Richard I is one of the most dangerous and charismatic Servants in Fate/strange Fake. He doesn’t live in the shadow of the King of Knights—he carries her legacy forward in his own way.

  1. Prelatis: “lol! Your ‘hero’ was a flawed individual filled with doubt and self esteem issues who ‘failed’ at everything they set out to do!”

Richard: “…This is somehow supposed to make me NOT identify with them?”

  2. Peak characterization from Richard here. Honestly, he basically summed up the very purpose of this Banquet of Kings perfectly in my opinion. It's how this very scene always came across to me back when watching Fate/Zero. It was never about who's right and wrong as a ruler but how they chose to lead their individual lives. Taking that into account, it's easy to see why Broskandar would be angry on Artoria's behalf. Saber and Ayaka reaffirming their vows as Servant and Master respectively at the end was the cherry on top.
