Trigun Stargaze: A Tragic Masterpiece or a Misguided Finale?

Trigun Stargaze: A Tragic Masterpiece or a Misguided Finale?

Trigun Stargaze is a visually stunning, ambitious reboot that promises to wrap up Vash the Stampede’s saga in a new, daring way. But does it truly honor the spirit of the original Trigun, or is it just another beautiful, hollow reimagining that misses the emotional heart of the series?

Vash the Stampede, once the carefree, idealistic gunman, now lies in a near-catatonic state, weighed down by the guilt of his past. Meryl and Milly return to track him down, but their journey is far from the lighthearted adventure it once was. With new characters like Jessica and an Earth fleet looming over No Man’s Land, Trigun Stargaze starts with a bang, but quickly loses sight of what made the original anime so captivating.

The animation is top-notch, as expected from Studio Orange’s 3DCG efforts, but it feels like a flashy shell over a story that struggles to connect emotionally. The opening theme is a jarring departure from the iconic Trigun soundtracks, and the pacing seems off as the reboot rushes to introduce new ideas at the cost of character depth. Vash’s emotional arc is barely touched on, while Jessica—an original character—takes center stage in a narrative that seems more focused on spectacle than substance.

It’s Trigun without the soul, Stampede without the emotional punches, and a conclusion that feels rushed despite all the new twists. Stunning visuals can’t hide how disconnected this story feels from the one fans fell in love with decades ago.

👉 A gorgeous, but emotionally flat reboot that doesn’t quite know what it wants to be.

  1. Thank you for the video, your channel is amazing!

I would love to hear your thoughts on Saretagawa no Blue (The Betrayed Husband's Blues) by Chika Semoto. This is a completed 144 chapter manga, on some websites it will say this is a webtoon /webcomic but none the less, it's completed and its a josei, drama, adult cast and romance series about revenge, second chance at love, character growth(at least for some of the lead character and side characters) with other tropes like the found family and supportive friends/side characters(some of the side characters are supportive not all of the theme) and the various antagonists in this series are bad, none of them are reemable in my eyes and they do get their karma. At the same time, there is some heavy topics in this manga, just thought I would warn you.

Overall, I rate the series an 8 out of 10 and if you want something like Peach Girl, Nana, Boys Over Flowers(to an extent), and Itazura na Kiss(to an extent), you should read this, so in other words, I am saying this is quite messy and some of the antagonists in the series are yandere too!

Also, Saretagawa no Blue(The Betrayed Husband's Blues) does not have an anime adapation but it does have a tv series with 8 episodes, which has mixed reviews. I never watched the TV series, so I cannot really say anything about it.

I almost forgot to mention this, but the plot of The Betrayed Husband's Blues or Saretagawa no Blue is about Noburu Tawaga, a 26-year-old who works from home as a graphic designer and takes care of the house for himself and his wife, Aiko Tawaga, who is 29 years old, beautiful, and has a great job of her own. It seems like their marriage is perfect until it's not, when Noburu realizes his wife is becoming meaner and bossier, which she's never been like that, and he eventually finds out she is having an affair with her boss at work. I tell you, Aiko is just like Sae Kashiwagi from Peach Girl, as both are manipulative, professional gaslighters who only think about themselves and not about how their actions affect them and those around them. If there were an award for Professional Gaslighters, Sae and Aiko both win

Ps: Peach Girl is a manga created by Miwa Ueda, consisting of 18 volumes and 72 chapters. It was adapted into an anime of the same name in 2005, which features one season with 25 episodes filled with drama, miscommunication, misunderstandings, romance, love triangles, and elements of slice of life.

The main antagonist of Peach Girl is Sae Kawashiwagi, while the protagonist is Momo Adachi. Momo has two love interests: Kazuya "Toji" Tojigamori, her crush and childhood friend for whom she has had feelings since middle school, and Kairi Okayasu, the resident playboy who also has feelings for Momo but is simultaneously interested in someone else. It is important to note that neither Toji nor Kairi is in love with Sae.

I would love to hear your thoughts on "Itazura na Kiss," a 90s manga by the late Kaoru Tada, which was adapted into an anime in the early 2000s, 2008 to be exact! The anime consists of one season with 25 episodes, following the characters from their high school years into adulthood.

The story centers around Kotoko Aihara, a cute, ditzy yet determined and loyal girl who has a crush on her senpai, Naoki Irie. Naoki is portrayed as a handsome, cold, sarcastic, intelligent, and seemingly perfect guy, making him a classic tsundere character.

The main conflict arises when Kotoko tries to confess her feelings to Naoki through a love letter, only to be turned down. Naoki initially has no interest in her, partly because they are in different classes: Kotoko is in Class F, the lowest level, while Naoki is in Class A, the smartest class.

If you’re looking for a story about opposites attracting, filled with drama, slice-of-life elements, love triangles, and a diverse cast of characters with various personalities and goals—along with plenty of romance—then I highly recommend reading and watching Itazura na Kiss.

Have a wonderful day/weekend and keep up the great work🤩

Ps: I sent you an email.
