  1. It seems likely that Kaya's family has been practicing special rituals for generations to bestow special powers. I believe that when Kaya's grandmother apologized to Kaya, she was asking for forgiveness from her granddaughter, knowing that something bad had happened as a result of something the family, including her grandmother, had done to Kaya's mother.

  2. Again!! The plot twist insane….What is "the pick up""?? Are they some sort of grim reaper waiting to take the soul of dead people dying old age…..And Nana….who the heck is she? I bet she's not Kaya's mom……mayb someone the grandma knew in the past who end up die at certain point and reasons….Mob-san have a new wife….I forgot her previous wife …is it th same person?

Between the axe ghost from Mieruko-chan or the ghost in the train in this series? Which is terrifying?

  3. As a manga reader: yes, the plot is actually thick in this one. The presentation of the moral of the story is actually quite cool, too. It is quite nice to see someone who appreciates the show's plot despite its deceptively cutesy style. Yes, yes, I know one could argue that the manga's art is creepier (since apparently it is harder to make scary anime), but I think the show should be appreciated for its horrifying story more than its visual horror. I hope you continue with this series. It gets creepier to the point that I forgot that its selling point is the cute little Kaya.

  4. Kisaragi Station is a famous Japanese ghost train station urban legend that was started by a thread on the Japanese message board 2channel. In the message thread, a woman named Hasumi was live posting her experiences on the train where the passengers seemed asleep. She eventually got off at at Kisaragi station and made a lot of observations about the creepy things going on before she eventually stopped posting.

It's funny since Chie-sensei's name is Chie Hasumi, but she had Kaya-chan, unlike the Hasumi in the urban legend, so she survived.

  5. 5:48 I’m glad his wife returned to him. And she’s really understanding with his obsession with the occult… not to mention him stalking, I mean, constantly contacting a cute kindergarten teacher…

  6. The OST goes hard! And to me, it's what makes or break this show (I like quite a few things in it but idk if I would feel nearly as invested, with a tamer OST)

  7. Any chance a series called Dark Gathering got your attention too? It has an almost similar premise with Kaya-chan, primarily the little girl that can see ghosts part, but it would have a different approach on how said ghosts were handled
