2B is probably the most popular character design to come out of video games or anime since, maybe, Rei Ayanami.
Nier Automata: one of the few video games that actually has an in-game explanation for mechanics like "save points" in a game.
This adaptation is actually holding up pretty in-between for some Nier fans. Mainly because of the pacing obviously, but that’s what you can expect from an adaptation. The reason why people are conflicted right now is due to the amount of character dialogue and world building that was missing. For instance…
When 2B was looking off into the distance and looking at the birds, it was supposed to give some insight that 2B is not familiar with all of life on earth and had never seen birds before.
When you’re introduced to 9S as he’s looking at the robot splashing oil on the one that’s not moving, you miss out some more dialogue. You discover that the little robot is attempting to save the bigger robot, calling it “big brother” while trying to give him oil.
Some world building is kept out that reflects some messages that the game tries to convey later in the story, but some of these reasons caused controversy since Nier fans can be really die-hard.
Nonetheless, I hope you guys are enjoying it and looking for more to come, because I absolutely am!

Trying to convince lets players to self-destruct in the bunker without revealing that they'll game over the game is always the funnest thing.
Nier Automata is a trauma generator meant to make you question the nature of life, the soul and morality, make you cry a lot and yes, also contains some action elements. 😛
The Nier games are masterpieces and for me I add Drakengard 1 and 3 🙂 mostly 3 🙂
