This legendary Yiri magazine is celebrating its 20th anniversary in some awesome ways. So, Kamiri Hime is turning 20. The iconic Yuri manga magazine started publication in July 2005, making it the longest running Japanese magazine dedicated entirely to Yuri. When it began, it was just a quarterly publication, but it’s now been monthly for almost a decade and is hugely influential, serializing some of the greatest and most beloved GL series like The Summer You Were There You Yuri, Wish Me a Love Song, The Conditions of Paradise, Yuri Is My Job, and I’m in Love with the Villainess, and Citrus. Hey, they can’t all be winners. This milestone is cool enough, but the way they’re celebrating is even more exciting. First, the magazine released a special promo video and will hold a commemorative Yuri exhibition this winter in Tokyo. But the best part of course is in their manga and special releases. Starting with the latest issue, the magazine is hosting a one-year long special oneshot project with a bunch of amazing Yuring mangaka creating original works. Even better, Yuri Kime is putting out a slew of new manga, starting with two new series that debuted in the latest issue. One a psychological horror and the other a cute school romcom. But of course, both are Yuri. Best of all, at least to me, they released a special anniversary anthology packed with stories and art from fan favorite Yuri mangaka like Kudamanoko, Ekko Takashima, and Yuama. So, it’s all just a huge celebration for one of the most important names in Yuri. Have you read any Yuri Hima series? If so, what manga are your favorite that you would recommend to other Yuri fans?

Comic Yuri Hime, the longest running and most renowned Yuri manga magazine that gave us Yuri is My Job, I’m in Love with the Villainess, Whisper Me a Love Song, and tons of other amazing manga to read, is celebrating with a special anniversary anthology, new one-shots, new manga romance series, and even a Tokyo exhibition.

If you love Yuri manga or GL anime, or as Yuri Hime would want to call you, a himejoshi or himedanshi, this is a must-know milestone for the genre. Which Yuri series from this amazing magazine do you recommend?
