What it Means to be a True Dragon!!! (Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest Chapter 190 Review)

Hey, how’s it going everyone? It is Drea. We’re back with another chapter of Fairy Tale 100year quest, chapter 190 for those we hold dear. And the cover page for this chapter is yet again another dragonized cover, but this time it is Misfortune, which I think is the least dragonized member of Fire and Flame. And honestly, I don’t really notice any differences, but I still think that she’s pretty cute on this cover. And let’s get into the actual chapter. So the chapter picks up with Gajiel fighting Zero. Kind of crazy that Zero was potentially eyeing Gajiel to be an eventual space member. Honestly, Gajil could have had a pretty dark life if he actually didn’t join Fairy Tale cuz he could have potentially been recruited by Zero down the line. I do like that he immediately does not want to be part of the Arashion in any way, shape, or form. But I do like that he has a stronger reason uh for obviously being in Fairy Tales because he thinks of like Levy in that moment as to, you know, why he’s there. Honestly, in the same panel too, they’re going back and forth pretty evenly as well. I do like that Gajio basically calls out Zero for being a loner. Like, you have no one in your life to potentially even care about. You just are kind of a loser, dude. Zero basically is just like, “Yeah, I totally have someone I care for. It is destruction.” I absolutely love that. Anytime you bring up that topic of destruction, he just goes off, man. He just loves talking about it. That’s like his favorite thing in the whole dang world. I do love that once he gets hyped up about destruction, like he absolutely sends Gajio flying. And at this point, he’s like, “How the flip did Natu beat this guy?” I absolutely love the transition that happens here because you get Gajiel talking about Natu and beating Zero and then we cut to Natu. very fun because obviously you have Natu with the rest of team fairy tale fighting fire and flame which the very beginning of this fight I also just thought it was going to be Natu just soloing all of them because you get a panel of him just attacking different fire and flame members and honestly he really is going through all of them solo to where Gray and Lucy are eventually like Nazu can we like not have you take them on all alone by yourself like can help you in any way. And even the Signar sisters were going to like gang up on Natu and like that still wasn’t enough cuz he just immediately turns on them and gives him like a fire dragon roar to the face. But that doesn’t fully stop them cuz they actually end up trapping Natu in like this fire sphere. basically doing uh Juvie’s water lock, which they actually do call it flame lock, but it’s just like the fire version of it, which I’m actually kind of surprised that Natu just can’t straight up eat that cuz I would feel like he could eat it. But this is where you finally get some of the other fairy tale members finally join in this fight to where it’s not just only Natu soloing fire and flame with Öza and Gray attacking the Cigaro sisters to free Natu from Firelock. kind of love that as Natasu’s thanking Urza and Gray for saving him. That’s when a couple more Fire and Flame members are going to like jump Natu from behind, but then you get Gray and Urza again saving Natu. But I love the expression that Natu has on his face like, “Oh, these are like scary Öza back again.” Like he did not expect them to jump in. Also kind of love that he was like definitely gearing up to do an attack, but then since Öza’s in front of him, he’s like, I shall not attack you, I don’t want the pain that comes with hitting Urza. And a very fun thing is Urza is using her Sea Empress armor, which is actually super cool cuz obviously all the people she’s fighting are using fire magic, so it’s a perfect counter. And then Gray is also using Demon Slayer magic, but uh he doesn’t have like the tattoo on, which honestly, these two are really good at probably taking out fire wizards because they’re water and ice, which both of them do a pretty dang good job at taking out their opponent, which then eventually has Natu get matched up against Wed. I do really like Natu and Wed’s conversation about Natu calling them fake dragons and Wed’s all like pissed off like why are you calling us fake dragons? Like we’re trying to destroy humanity and dragons will reign supreme. You got to love that Natu’s reply to them makes all the fireflames members like stop for a second be like wait dragons can do that? So obviously Natu says that real dragons are kind and you know they don’t hurt people. And apparently that’s so unheard of for them that they’re like wait that’s impossible. Of course Wed doesn’t like that answer. He’s like that’s not the only reason why you fight. Like you have to fight for some other reason. And this is of course when you’re get Natsu going to talk about his friends which I do really like how this panel happens too. I like that Natu is hyping up, you know, the reasons he fights. And as he’s about to punch him in the face, he says, you know, I’m fighting for our friends and for our survival. It’s a really cool page to end on. And that literally is the final page of this chapter. With that, it is the end of this chapter. So, my thoughts, honestly, pretty dang fast chapter. I was not really expecting to cut away from Gajiel like right at the beginning of his fight and then go back to Natu and their fight to where you didn’t really get either fight settling. Uh you got both kind of prolonged into next chapter now. So hopefully we actually get the ending to goals fight next chapter and then maybe you could go with like Meera and Elfman and then obviously you still have team fairy tale here. Ferris and Ignia elsewhere. I do find it quite crazy though that Zero was eyeing Gajil to potentially be in the safe. That could be quite the interesting timeline if you had Gajial eventually join the Arashion. But otherwise, this really was just a very short chapter and you didn’t really get resolutions to either fight. So, that kind of sucked. So, what are your guys’ thoughts about the chapter? Leave it in the comments below. Thank you for watching and this is Drago signing out.

  1. I think it makes sense Natsu wouldn't be able to escape Flame Lock because it restrains you so if he can't move, he can't eat. It's like how Acnologia can eat any Magic, but Fairy Sphere, which puts people in suspended animation, was able to freeze him when it was strong enough.
