Bandai – Grendizer U – Grendizer (Goldorak) – The Robot Spirits Figure Unboxing! | Bruno’s Boxes
[Music] [Music] Bonjour and welcome to a new unboxing video. And and today we’ve got something a bit different because well it’s a different franchise and it’s a different country because this uh is actually from Japan and uh we’ve spoken about a few times about an old cartoon Japanese cartoon called Gold Raciser and I have shown you a few items in the past but there’s actually uh a reboot of Grandiser called Grandiser you uh and basically they’ve started creating toys. So I thought well let’s see the toys for the new series. So if I could show you the old uh version uh that was the main robot uh from the old version of grandizer gold. So that was goldrack was done in 1970s and uh and of course they modernized everything for the new Grandiser U uh release and here it is. So you do have this uh Grandiser from Grandiser U. Um it’s called the robot spirits collection. Uh it’s from Bandai in Japan. And basically, this is the first release. They’re going to do more release, uh, but this is the first release of them all. So, we’re going to discover this lovely Japanese action figures and see how it compares to the old one. I mean, it’s not the same style as the old one, obviously. It doesn’t come from the same collection. Uh, but they’ve updated the robot and I think it looks really good. I actually the TV series Grandu looks fantastic. if you have the opportunity of watching it. There’s one season for now and there’s a second season coming. So anyway, let’s talk about this beautiful uh toy. And so here is the front of the box. So as you as I’ve said, it’s from Bondi. It’s in the Robot Spirit collection which has many robots from other animated series. Uh it’s not just uh Grandiser. Uh so you do have an image of Grandiser uh which is the name of the robot. On the side you do have an image of Grandiser. Is it the toy? Yes, I think it is the toy. Then on the left side you’ve got uh Duke Fleed also known as Actarus in Europe who is the main character and the pilot for Brandis. And as you can see for people who know the old series, they’ve updated the look as well. And in the back, you do have some images of uh what the toy can do and this ugly sticker for European uh sale. Uh because I mean you need to have the stickers for legal stickers for European sales. So here we go. Let’s open this and see what it’s like. So it’s a question of where is the opening? Ah, the opening is on the side. Right. I’ve got everything out. So, first of all, before I I I explain, it’s not a die cast because I mean, Bandai does die cast uh figures and stuff, but this one is entire plastic. So, here is the new Grander from Grander Hue. And he looks really cool. I have to admit it looks really, very, very, very nice. So, we’re going to see how much articulation he’s got. Just showing you more details here. Um, let’s see what articulation he’s got. Of course, he’s got the uh head which can actually turn around as you would expect. Uh, there is a a strange articulation as well in the head because he needs to be able it it basically he does have a flying saucer in which he slides in. So of course the head must be uh able to lift so that when he is in the flying position which would be that you can actually he can tilt his head. So that’s one thing that’s good. Then you’ve got uh there’s a double articulation here. So you’ve got the chest articulation at the sternum and you do have the waist articulation as well. Then you do have a shoulder. You do have the arm, you do have the wrist. So, same thing on the other side. There is more articulation, but I would show them to you after that. Then you do have of course the knee and the leg and the foot. So, basically that’s quite nicely articulated. Uh I was saying that I wasn’t showing all the articulation because there’s also this uh one of the uh weapon that Grandiser has is that he can actually fire his fist. So when he fires his fist basically he puts his fist in this configuration. So, it’s actually very nice that you can do the fist configuration for when he’s about to uh throw his fist. I’m not quite sure. No, you can’t remove the the fist because in in a very old version, of course, you could eject the the the wrist, but this one you can’t. You can, of course, do exactly the same on the left side. Uh yeah, I’m just showing you one uh fist, but you can actually do that on both. Uh it’s got more weapon, so I’m just trying to make him look good. Uh it’s a great robot. I I think it’s a fantastic robot. It’s it’s always a bit odd when you’re getting used to articulations uh in different uh countries because the Japanese I find have a more a different way of doing articulation mostly for their robots. There’s uh they there’s more engineering I would say than in a basic five point or seven point or 14 point of articulation figure. Uh so that’s rather nice. What does what else does he do? You can remove the shoulder blade. The reason why you can remove the shoulder blade is that they are actually weapons. So in the show he can actually throw them like that. Uh I don’t know what they’re called in English or in Japanese but in French I called claviko. Uh and basically they can then be adapted to become this double axe. Uh, and as you can see, he can use them like that. Or, so I’m just trying to make him stand. Uh, which is just a question of finding the right posture. Here we go. Or what you can also do with those, but I don’t know if that actually works with this. No, you can’t actually do it with those. I was kind of expecting that you would. uh because of course he can also use the um the parts of the uh axe as clubs. So basically he he removes those when he wants to throw them at his uh um opponent. Uh so basically uh as I was saying you can actually connect those and you can also use the two uh bits without the uh full axe. I’m just wondering yes you can actually remove those two bits. That’s what I was missing earlier that I didn’t realize you could do. So you could actually uh disconnect the axe and he can actually use them separately. Uh, of course to use those he needs extra hands. So we do have two pairs of extra hands. Uh, one are open hands. Um, and the other ones are fists and but with a hole in them. Uh, one thing to say is that the those are quite rubberized. It’s very odd uh under the arm because they’re very very soft. So those bits are actually quite soft as you can see. So what you do when you want him to use his weapons is that you actually change his fist, which is always a little bit of a problem. articulated fists uh with uh that kind of feature are always a problem because the um the the how to say the uh the little plug for the fist has a tendency because it’s articulated as well. I mean I don’t know if you can see correctly but yeah as this is also articulated if you are trying to change the uh the fist to something else of course what will happen first of all you need to get the correct fist that’s not that one not that one and it is that one the the reason why basically those have a tendency to actually bend back when you’re trying to uh fit the new um the new the new fist, which is always a bit annoying. Um but here you go. As I was saying, you can actually uh give him the weapons and he can actually use them to attack people. So that that’s really cool. Um that’s all there is in in this. I’m going to remove those bits from his hands. So, it’s a very simple toy, but it’s the first one they are releasing. Uh, anyway, they’re also releasing a uh the flying saucer. They’re also releasing another of the ships. Uh, they’re releasing the other robot because the the and there is also uh Mazinga Zed in in that show. Uh, so basically you will have both robots. this flying saucer. There’s other ships that will be released later and of course they will probably be releasing the action figures of the pilot. But here you go. That’s the first release. So it’s the Grandiser from Grandiser U uh in the uh Robot Spirits collection by Bandai. And uh well I will speak to you again soon. Bye. [Music]

you can actually detach the fists of the figure
And of course, it would have helped if I had found the instructions, which were hidden behind the inside blue board. 😉
