The idea that meteors heat up due to friction as a very common misconception. In this video, I explain the process behind burning meteors, and some other misconceptions about them.

  1. Some way cool footage you have there. Interesting distinction about compression too. Once when I was a kid, as if by intuition, I looked out the window one dark night and saw what appeared to be a bright meteorite fall to the ground nearby and it seemed to bounce when it landed. So I went out and found it the next morning and picked it up but it was nothing more than a small burnt out cinder no larger than a garden pea which crumbled in my fingers so in this case I suppose in actuality it was a meteor-wrong ?
    Cheers 👍

  2. Interesting! I had no idea that was the real reason why. I guess meteors are the worlds largest fire pistons. Oh, and by the way, I hereby elect you as "World's Most Underrrated YouTuber".

  3. I love that crater in Quebec! I found it browsing google earth before I heard about it anywhere else and I always thought it looked like Strong Sad from Homestar Runner

  4. The reason why everyone in russia has a dash cam is because by law you have to have one to get insurence for you car. Insurence scams were such a huge issue in russia that they made laws to prevent them with dash cams. Basically they wont pay out without a video of the accident. Hence why everyone has dash cameras in russia.
