This episode. Everything changes.
This wasn’t planned, and it’s not something we thought we’d be doing right now — but sometimes vanlife throws unexpected opportunities (and challenges) your way.
We reveal a major shift we’re making while still living and traveling on the road.
It’s a huge project that will shape the next chapter of our vanlife journey — and we’re taking you behind the scenes with us.
🚐 Come along for the ride as we embrace the unknown and make some BIG changes to our tiny home on wheels.
We’d love to hear from you! Share your thoughts, ask questions, or tell us about your own Big Lap adventures in the comments below.

Hi guys 👋👋👋
Definitely some great ideas to think about. The slide out storage at the back is a no brainer for sure. And yes if you do have room for a freezer then that’s brilliant. How would a freezer impact the batteries?? The the front seats will be great if they revolved but you said about putting the toilet under the second seat on the o/s and having a matching seat. I think you might struggle to find one unless you have someone who could fabricate weld you sone kind of frame for the seat to be on. All the same I can’t wait to see it all come together ❤❤
So sounds like you want your van to be a bit like Neil and Emma's van on Urban Vanlife utubers. lagoon table not a flip up, I just noticed have you got a drop down bed?, ummm
That is sooo cool! My only ? is do you want the toilet in the kitchen? I know campers are small and a door with a gap on the top and bottom separates our bathroom from the kitchen too LOL OH i have legs, and hubs had torso:)
Hey guys 💜
How much water do you store? Do you have enough solare and battery, Sliding drawers and freezer, 👍 ì
Good Day Tim and Sandy 😊
I don't have any brilliant ideas but I really enjoyed the planning session!
Exciting times ahead for you! The changes look good & the outdoor shower seems ideal, but I'm curious about the awning. I would have thought it would be essential for some extra shade and rain protection? Are you getting rid of it entirely or replacing it with something better?
Tim and Sandy That was a great episode. Getting lots of ideas from you guys for our future van build. We also do not want to take up space with an internal shower. Since you have lived and coexisted in your van for as long as you have it's good to get your take on what you think works and what doesn't. Loving the sound of what you are proposing. Can't wait to see the finished result. Hope all goes smoothly. Sharon.
Hi Tim and Sandy, I met you with my little Chihuahua Luigi at Smithton, Tasmania. Love the new ideas for the van. Just a note, those kings drawers are great, I had them in a little Caddy but they are bloody heavy! In regards to the table, I’d go for a drop option if you ever wanted to turn that area into a little bed or seat otherwise, I’d go for a Lagun. Will look forward to seeing the progress. Kiss to Pablo. Safe travels. Emma xo
