  2. Another productive week. So happy to hear Luke has stopped smoking. Seeing what my Mum has been through over the last 10 years with COPD is the reason I beg people to stop now. Well done Luke!

  3. I try to look at the almanac for the year but the frosts have been getting later in the year. So I always pay attention to the forecasts also. I have plastic on hand right at the foot of each bed just in case.
    Hard learning.

  31. I just heard you quit smoking! I am so proud of and happy for you. I quit in 2019 after 41 years. They say your lungs are recovered after the first 5 years of non smoking. I can attest that I have never breathed better in my adult life. I agree that only you can decide to quit and ultimately be successful. We’re all pretty stubborn that way. 🩷

(Wish it could be me !) sara in themiddle of Canada we don’t dare do out side planting till mid to end of May, I too have lost many new plants because of spring frosts, very costly for us cause I buy my stater flower plants and the cost is soooo crazy each year, veg I plant just seeds straight into the garden.

  41. Hi Sarah, Don’t be too disheartened. I find that later plantings soon catch up. I do 2 plantings out, if I’m early (just in case). Everything seems to ripen together. Shame about the pumpkins though. You are MORE likely to get a frost softer a clear sunny day, when there is no cloud cover to hold the warmth in. Moisture takes longer to freeze, so I guess the moisture, in the cloud has something to do with it. Well done in finishing the corner! We are working every day to get my garden sorted here, in the Algarve.

  43. Hi Guys well done on finishing this physical job in the hot sun. I noticed Molly has a lot of pink pigmentation on her nose would you put some sun block on this area. It's important to protect our pets from the sun. Our pets get cancer as well. Thank you for sharing your journey.

  45. Well done Luke. I'm eighty one now. When I was 73, after smoking for 52 years, I suddenly woke one morning and didn't want to anymore. It was totally out of the blue. I haven't lit up since.
