Okonogi-san: Ah yes, the defense force handgun produced by Izumo Tech. It is an exceptional item that can handle normal bullets, freezing bullets, and energy bullets by changing out a single barrel.
Reno: Yes, it’s actually the energy bullets that I’m stuck on.
Okonogi-san: Can you elaborate?
Reno: Even though they are not real bullets, you still pull the slide when you load the first bullet, right? I’ve been wondering what purpose that action serves.
Okonogi-san: Ahh that’s for safety purposes.

Okonogi-san: It’s the same as how electric cars purposely make noise to alert pedestrians. By making the process until firing as close as possible to real ammo, it has the effect of preventing misuse.

Haruichi: Exactly. There’s a sense of trust that’s brought from the feel, weight, and handling protocol. The mental effects of these are no laughing matter. To be honest, speaking of thoroughly imitating a real handgun, there was a plan for adding blowback. But pinpoint accuracy is the priority, so it was decided against.
Reno: As expected from the distinguished son of Izumo Tech. That was informative!
Haruichi: Izumo Tech exists to help everyone fight Kaiju. Wink wink. By the way, up until we settled on these current features for the defense force handgun, there were of course many twists and turns (in its development).
