  1. Going to be real 6/10. Great fight and stuff but the friendship and generic stuff and the fact that this fight literally started right after the previous one ended makes it’s worse off to me. Also we are retreading the exact same beats we did in the final Leon vs Hiro makes it’s worst. But over all the card game itself was kinda fun.

  2. As much as I LOVED this fight (and the series in general) my only problem is with 1 person, Ryuga.

He was picked by Wolfram and then defeated him, but he didn't play such a major role against Wolfram. He was just on par with the others.
Also, HE HAS NO PRIOR INTERRACTIONS WITH LIGHT!
    Like none at all.
Ryuga had spoken only to Itsuki and then to Mikado when they teamed up.
He never even spoke to Light before and all of a sudden they are besties.

Idk, this was like the weirdest thing to me.

Sidenote: We never got a backstory and his motivation is THE SAME AS FUCKING GOKU'S if you can believe that.

Just a damn shame that they didn't do more with him.

  3. Despite me really liking this battle even thought it whas right after there last also great battle i have a few problems with this Arc.

    1. Enigma…what whas the point of introducing this group Witch I whas intrigued by what there role whas…and have them do NOTHING, They did nothing but prey to a so called savior that whas gonna destroy them, they did less than that Drone helmet Goha president thing in Yu-Gi-Oh Sevens what a waste of a group.

    2. Leon 2.0. I like Wolfram I love his Deck I truly do but his reasoning for aligning with Nexus just it doesn't resonate with me ad all and in the end the reason why he starts this journey is for a guy who's apparently alive in the end completely making everything he did just plain dumb in my head.

    3. Hina and Andrea still alive. Don't get me wrong I'm happy there alive despite what they where doing I especially hoped Hina would get a better life but it kinda make there apparent death scene witch no one could survive in this case irrelevant from my point like…oh god they fell down in a ravine on solid hard jagged rocks, oh wait they just walk it of.

    4. Maybe my worst one shoving Arc Ruler aside for Wolfram. Like Arc Ruler whas introduced from episode 1 they started with him, I found him great, he made me think of Lightning and Bohman in a lot of ways and in his first battle he looses and Wolfram takes over out of nowhere and he's turned into a good guy like…and yeah I know he's Light's Portalcraft Legend card so he's supposed to be good but still the way it happened whas a little hmm to me.

  4. Not gonna lie, I’ve had a love-hate relationship with this show ever since its first episode and the finale was a prime example. The dialogue/debate made Wolfram an even more pathetic villain than Arc Ruler (who was literally a budget Nerva and, in the words of a certain Shadowcraft player, lacked inevitability) but the battle itself was really cool, especially that final play. Sure, the others showing up didn’t make much sense, but the way Light masterfully played their partners made up for it. Especially since he made that whole plan in an instant, as he presumably didn’t even know what those cards did until they entered this hand.

But the epilogue? It was downright atrocious to the point I feel the need to make multiple headcanons to justify it. I won’t go into too much detail besides telling y’all something I really wish was on screen and something I find downright disgusting but trust me when I say that there’s so much more to hate about it:

    1. The only way to justify Hina, Andrea and Harry being alive is to point out that Wolfram was gathering power to warp reality in a much more extreme way than bringing three people back to life, retroactively or not. Just make those two’s fall not as bad as it originally was and manipulate probability to make Harry miraculously survive that fire. It’s a good way to make their “deaths” not be completely meaningless while giving these people the happy ending that the protagonists and writers (erroneously) think they deserve.
    2. I don’t know how they should have handled it but could they please pick a better group of saviors than the Seven Shadows. Yes, Hiro and Luca saved the world in the past and Kaguya presumably saved many lives in the crisis. But the other four? One of them was willing to let the world burn for personal gain, two of them were unrepentant supervillains who wanted the world to be destroyed and one of them was outright the one who nearly destroyed the world to reshape it in his own image. Sure, Wolfram himself a well-intentioned-extremist and Wodin didn’t actually plan on killing Shion, but it’s still disgusting to me that the majority of the “saviors” literally did more harm than good when the world was in crisis. Maybe Hiro and/or Luca could’ve suggested that the original Shadowverse cast be put on a pedestal after someone points out that the Seven Shadows did not deserve it? They presumably were just as much help as Kaguya in this crisis, who was the least helpful of the heroic Seven Shadows, and genuinely saved the world in the past so they’re infinitely more deserving of the role. That said however… I’d honestly prefer if seven background characters got put on a pedestal than this group, even though they’d presumably be portrayed as hating and/or undeserving of the attention.

Note: I haven’t watched the original series because multiple friends told me to skip it when I asked if “the Shadowverse anime” was any good so I take what I say about them with a grain of salt. Still, I’m fairly certain that Kai is/was a pro player and therefore a celebrity while Alice is literally an idol so they wouldn’t have much room to complain. Mauro could end up inheriting the corporation because of it and the public attention would help Mimori be close to Alice. Hiro and Luca wouldn’t experience any changes whatsoever because, well, they’re already considered heroes. No idea about Kazuki but from what I’ve seen I wouldn’t be surprised if him being the only one to loathe the attention ended up being played for laughs.
