We broke the ribbon on our new bin conveyors and let us just say they appear to have a few gremlins. At this point, I think we have more corn on the ground than inside the bins. Good for the deer, bad for the farm. If we can fix it, the farm will save hundreds of hours and become hyper efficient! If we cannot fix it, we just wasted a lot of money. What will happen? Time will tell.

  1. life insurance and do a testament!!! Nothing rips families apart and messes stuff up like inheritance. Make sure family and loved ones can keep their property's, houses and stuff if something happens and the grim-reaper comes knocking.

  2. being a somewhat of a knowledgeable person with grain conveying equipment. not only operating them as a career but also being maintenance for this machinery for one of the biggest grain handling companies in the world, i work for ADM in Decatur IL and i can tell you your whole set up is just horrible configured. As in structural, like your hand rails and cat walks aren't an importance to me but the drags and at which rates do really surprise me. all your equipment needs to be smallest to biggest which is kind of a given but they need to be (geared at different ratios) and also play with the amp overload for each piece of equipment because you need to run each piece of equipment further down the line harder or they need to be bigger. as in your pit drag, you honestly should just get rid of the augers. sure it may keep your pit cleaner longer but for your set up that needs to be gravity fed

  3. With the snowblower, when you store it in a heated shop, it's a good idea to start the skidsteer, pull outside and let the blower get cold for about 10 minutes before starting to blow snow. That helps to keep the machine from icing up so much.

  4. that really sucks.. all the money and time you spent into finally getting this massive upgrade for it to end up like this, i really hope it pulls through for you.

  5. Few machines are ever as disappointing as a snow blower. I swear, nothing works worse than a snow blower. Whatever yours is rated for, you're getting more snow than that, or it breaks down or whatever.

  6. I'd like to think that it is not the manufacturing end of things but the crew that attempted to do all the work of putting it together. It just makes me sick to my stomach of how they, the company doesn't want to make things right and build you a working bin. Since you are YouTube, it is very bad advertising for everyone concerned. Hang in there, hopefully there are better days ahead. Peace

  8. My heart goes out to you, all that money spent on the bin site and it’s been nothing but an absolute disaster. Obviously any new construction will have its teething problems, but from an outsiders perspective this site needs inspection from an independent company and everything rectified asap.
When daddy cornstar was on the top of the bin last week all I could think of was him falling to his death. What a price to pay for shoddy workmanship/equipment. Just makes me think that the company that have supplied the equipment know that Cole’s a youtuber and still aren’t rushing to fix said issues so what chance would any other farm stand getting issues resolved 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
It will be to late to rectify the issues after someone’s been killed or seriously injured

  9. You should have variable frequency drives on all of your electric motors so you can calibrate the speeds of each piece of equipment. I don't have any experience with grain bins but I do have plenty of experience pertaining to industrial electrical and automation. Optical or hall effect sensor could be implemented so that it is impossible plug up a conveyor. You could even have a plc automatically adjust the feed rates so everything is in sync.

  10. If you’re under 30 you don’t need life insurance. Your GF should be out there working a full time job anyways right now. You don’t have kids, if you die she can take care of herself. And your dad and or brother can handle the farm, or sell it. Simple.
