Things get heated between Raika and his opponent, Sophie Bell! Although strong, Sophie shrouds her true nature beneath a façade, one Raika aims to crack!
NOTE: This may be spoiler-y, so read this after watching the episode.
Overall an incredible episode! Sophie hiding her real self and lacking the heart of a fighter is an interesting angle for her character, especially considering that she’s the champ for team America. Raika had a great fight here, not just with his comeback victory (I was pleasantly surprised he got the W ngl) but also in proving his conviction as a fighter and even defending the honor of Michru to an extent.
Sophie’s Vanguard- Almajestar, Astroea=Unica – is a big highlight and didn’t fail to wow me for her debut fight. The animation, rearguards, and strategy for her is beautiful and intriguing. Youthberk also got good action here with a couple of his new cards. That aside, I particular liked how Raika played his deck more “correctly” considering he went into Tempest first before using Gust as a finisher, which is how Youth typically plays irl but not how Raika usually does things.
Overall a stellar episode which I have little negatives to comment on. I’m looking forward to where the story goes from here as the plot thickens. Lemme know what your guy’s thoughts are in the comment section below, I hope you enjoyed!
damn that was a good episode! she reminds of OTT, manipulating triggers
Technically Glitters do have players, just not in the anime. They're in the Dear Days video game
i really want to make this new dark states deck…and i will lol i assume she held back and will beat him later…i hope so i am honestly sick of japan favoring youth.
Honestly cool to see an MC not losing immediately to one of the antagonists. Also, Astroea’s design in animation 👀
Love the OG like scenes. Agree, the background was great, like LJ series.
