Ngl, it's really disheartening to see Thorfinn like this. Man's literally lost any will or incentive for himself. Keeps waking up and screaming from nightmares. He's seen too much and doesn't care about living or dying, hence he's just been operating on autopilot all this time. IMHO Vinland Saga is a great example where the theme of revenge and its realistic consequences are utilized very well, which is something I don't see enough of in most shows in general.

Wow this episode was a lot, i had a feeling trouble was arising based on how the last episode ended and the this episode opened! It was like Throffin was unfazed by him; I’m glad the other guy came through at the end!

The intro is so dope asf! 🔥

Its crazy how much details the story has on structre and how farm was build in nords, lots great details that the defense is in the coast since the quickest way to attack is via the sea or lake

I hate that it's taking forever for anything to happen. I do not care about Einars story because he is an idiot and waiting this long for thorfinn to do anything or even say more than 6 words is annoying. I probably only feel this way because it drops one episode per week and I feel like it's going to be another month before we get to the good part.

For those who are interested in reading along with the manga this episode adapted the remainder of 57 (the last 13 pages), all of chapter 58 and the majority of chapter 59 (specifically 23/32 pages).

The passage of time isn't always super explicit in this arc, but the fact that the farms are harvesting their wheat crops now is meant to indicate it's now Autumn in Jutland (which is where modern-day Denmark is located), hence why Einar said he arrived in the Summer (it's been a couple months since Einar arrived at Ketil's farm).

Also good eye for picking up on the implications of what Arnheid being Ketil's "personal" attendant slave entails.

What's been neat about this arc's animation so far is how the focus in the character animation is now on the little details (or making scenes with numerous background characters less static) instead of action, creates distinct feel to the flow of the scenes compared to the previous season.
