I feel like a lot of shows this season have some dialogue issues, especially anime original shows.

Honestly I'm having more trouble distancing myself away from the OG Trigun. But as of now I have little nitpicks but nothing to get mad over. Also I love the CGI lol.

Yasuhiro Nightow is a Christian and much of Triguns meta narrative is about the Christian belief in forgiveness and pacifism hence all the cross/angel imagery throughout the entire Manga.

I don’t remember a lot from the original show but i feel like the setup for this anime makes you understand the world SO much more than the original. Also my only real issue is the character model faces are a little flat but overall i really enjoy the animation with this cgi, it’s really high quality and i wouldn’t mind more anime that are cgi if it was like this!

The harping on him as a coward didn't bother me. I thought it felt like a reasonable belief for the characters to have, even if they're clearly unaware of the full picture. There was definitely some weird dialogue, though. The bit near the end where Roberto asks "what are you running from" and then immediately answers himself struck me as very unnatural– less like something a person would actually say and more like a pointed reminder to the audience.

I'm having a lot of fun overall! I like seeing how they're taking things I recognize from the manga and '98 anime and piecing them back together in different positions. It makes the episodes into a surprise, even though I already know the original plot beats.

I think this series is more for children? The bad guys are not that bad (despiste having killed 69 people ) and the MC just make everyone good and united.
But I also think its the "fault" of the cgi: It's hard to convey certain emotions, so they need to spill out everything.
Don't get me wrong, the CGi is great and more for the action/chase scenes.

In the original when the women surround Vash they are shaking when Was tells them "wouldn't want children to see like this", but they have no choice 'cause the town is dying and at the same time you see again that Vash don't like violence but cannot stop until he finds "the person" he's looking for.
Here? It's normal that said child just watch his mother point a gun to another person.

Also, the bad guys attack the innocent people, forcing Vash to show his abilities as a gunslinger.

I also feel that everything is downplayed in this anime: Vash 60 billion reward agains the 6 million, the enemies are smaller/weaker, his weapon is weaker ( from something like caliber .44 to .22) and I don't know where this anime is going.

I though they would show us more about the plants or new things but not for now. It's also different from the manga, so….
The original was more about the people(and yes, a lot of filler because fo the manga) but you could also see the wasteland that is the world.

For now, this anime feels more basic, less serious but with some better shots thanks to the CGI.

Trigun Stampede looks like it was done by Fox Animation Studios. And I am not sure whether this is a compliment or insult. Regardless, slap a dub on the series and it could pass as western animation. Again, I'm not sure whether this a a good or bad thing. I do like the adaptation.

Heads up, Milly won't be in episode 3 either. Someone on Twitter who attended the pre-screening event was asked about her, and confirmed that she didn't appear in those 3 episodes.

It was a decent episode. The CGI still bothers me and takes me out of the mood at times but it is decent enough.

I dropped after the first episode…because of the "comedy".

I just don't like it. The pacing is off and there is no build up or payoff when compared to the Big Puncher episode. I'm starting to wish they never did this particular remake.

We get to see Meryl fall in love in real time. Pupils dialating and everything

“It was probably in the original series but I don’t remember it” let me remind you it definitely was not and nothing of this trash anime was in the OG. Great review though look forward to watching your next videos.

I honestly don't think that the CGI is that bad and the re-design can be left up to debate (although the lack of Millie Thompson and the nerf of his .45 long colt are unforgivable).

But the new show lacks that magic of mystery I felt as a kid sneaking out of bed to watch it on Adult Swim. Every episode dropped just a little bit more information about Vash. You start out almost expecting a comedy from the first five episodes, until he finally fires his weapon for the first time… then he fixes the plant the next episode. Then you meet Wolfwood and you learn even more about the connection between Vash and the plants.

On and on and on you are sucked little by little into – what you thought was originally a goofy action western anime – the world of Trigun and Vash's past until finally… not until episode fucking SEVENTEEN do you learn about Knives, Rem, the rest of the crew, and project seeds.

It wasn't just watching the weekly episode of wacky western anime with a sharpshooter, it was an experience learning more and more about Vash until close to the very end, already being invested in the character by the time you learn who Rem actually was and why his moral code is so important to him. Why he was so broken after killing Legato, and the importance of him being able to forgive him self and go confront Knives.

The new show? Bam first scene you know he's from space. Bam you find out 10 minutes in he's connected to the plants. Bam you know who Rem is and that she died. (Although that also didn't make sense… in 1998 she stayed behind to control the descent of the other colonizing ships, but in this one she just dies 10 seconds after they leave lol. She just decided to not get on the escape pod). Bam full exposition dump of Knives and Vash and the fact that Knives is crazy.

For old fans of Trigun, getting new episodes and some not halfway bad CGI fight scenes is great! But man they really fumbled the ball with the story telling. I feel bad for newcomers to Trigun who won't experience that same gradual unraveling of the mystery episode after episode. I feel like the new show isn't taking the time to develop Vash's character, isn't laying out the mystery, and is filling in the empty space with flashy fight scenes.
