He basically lost his wife and child, due to an attack, and he's now living with his friend, who is the depressed emo gamer, and basically the little girl is looking for her father which is the guy he kills while his wife is having her birthday party, and so he save the little girl by saying he's the father but actually ends up killing the actual father, and it's because they were on a Mission, hopefully this makes sense
Honestly I much prefer the concept of two homies just living together, raising a child together, and living their best lives with only platonic feelings involved.

So tired of all relationships who take care of a child being romantic or ending romantically so hoping that doesn't or didn't happen, I personally haven't watch it. But its cool that its just 2 buddies just taking care of a child, Seems nice :] and a good change of pace.
