40:40 is he referencing the big A?
In the first episode, if I am not mistaken, Knives did tell Rem that she could come with them. Of course, she put the well-being of all the others, both humans and plants, above herself in order to try and save the ship. I think in some ways, Knives may have taken that as a rejection from his surrogate mother, but he still cared about her.
I do love how they made Knives in this. He has much more of a presence than his original anime counterpart, in my opinion.
Can't wait for the next episode, one of my favorite characters shows up.

The animation is so good in this
It's prolly not a remake any more than FMA Brotherhood is? In other words, not really? Then again, idk which was first, anime or manga in Trigun's case & I haven't read the Trigun manga, at all, yet. So, if anybody familiar with org material could say, without spoilers…?
Say what you will about this adaptation, but they made Knives absolutely terrifying, as he should be.
For what its worth, his name is "Millions Knives" Which sounds linguistically terrible but does imply millions.
Trigun Stampede left SUCH a big impression on me when I watched it for the first time, so now I am waiting for these discussions like for a lifeline that connects my weeks
