he loves mcdonalds because mcdonalds in taiwan is so good, it rivals Michelin star restaurants. totally different, polar opposite from mcdonalds in the US, where even refugees prefers not to eat.
For a very specific demographic, the $5000 annual fee is worth it for the Equinox destination membership ($3,600 value) and $1,000 per year in Saks Fifth Ave credits, in addition to all of the normal Platinum card perks and benefits. If it also includes unlimited access to a Centurion club, which functions as a bar and restaurant with free food, the value would be truly outstanding for those that can qualify and would otherwise pay for similar services out of pocket.
