I'm a dental assistant/dental nurse for an orthodontist, the rescan for new aligners is called a refinement and is VERY common with invisalign, the 'shaving' is interproximal reduction if you want to do more research and the shaving is only usually like 0.1mm – 0.2mm you wont even notice it, but it will be worth it. They will order you a few more aligners to finish things off and they're definitely worth it otherwise these little things will bug you forever… just make sure at the end of treatment they give you retainers and lingual wires to hold everything in place – otherwise your teeth will relapse xx

  2. My hack for not getting bored on long runs is to pop in an audiobook! I won’t let myself listen to it unless I’m out for a run. Sometimes I’ll end up running even longer because I’m eager to hear what happens next 🙃

  4. sophie!! I highly recommend Nike Run Club if you are getting bored… they have guided runs where you can listen to professional athletes talk about their journeys and lives! i love it.

  5. Just fyi….my front teeth grow the same. When I was 13, I had the most amazing dentist I have ever had, and she recommended filling the space with composite filling material. I am now 41, have never done anything else to them, and they still look perfect.

  6. If you’re fighting boredom while running then try podcast/audio book instead of music? I completely forget myself if the topic or book is interesting

So I got into running this past year, I could barely run a mile 6 months ago and now I am able to run 10+ miles without stopping, and what I found that helped me the most was listening to podcasts rather than music bc like u said, I would get so bored listening to music while running and was constantly thinking about how much time I had left, but once i started listening to podcasts it distracted me so much to the point where I forgot I was even running at some points, so i definitely recommend trying podcasts!

  9. I'm also struggling with acne (for over a year now) :/ I also start to see it as my skin and like it will always be that way … but in a month I will see a dermatologist so I hope they can help me

  10. The “shaving” of the teeth is called IPR and it’s super common with aligner and ortho cases! So don’t be worried 😊

  11. I got my teeth shaved every time I had a check up for my invisalign (for the same reason – triangle shaped front teeth) !! totally worth it in the end, I love my teeth now; but I was so scared they were going to ruin the way my teeth looked the first time they suggested it 🤣

  12. Hey Sophie! I prefer listening to podcasts instead of music when I'm running, that way I don't see the time go by, and it's something I have to actively listen to, which keeps me focusing 😊

  13. Sophie, you should see if there’s a ParkRun group near where you live. There are 3 in my town and I go to them and love it! It makes me push myself so much harder than going for a run on my own and I don’t get bored because I’m surrounded by people and just want to focus on getting the run completed. Just food for thought. They’re mostly every Saturday morning at 7:00 am 🙂

    Its so easy to use and im getting 1-2 hrs a day in whilst working 😀

  15. Sometimes listening to a podcast or the radio is helpful when running, cause it forces you to listen to the as they talk.

I don't know if this is an option for you, but what really helped me get into running and not get bored or think about the minutes left (i started with couch to 5k too) was talking to someone on the phone. I'd put my headphones in and call my Dad and then I'd run in my city and he was running in his town. This took away the issue of getting bored and I didn't have to find someone in Person to go on a run with me. Plus it helped me regulate my pace and I didn't run so fast, that I couldn't breathe anymore.

  17. Acceptance with yourself comes with age that's for sure! Just relax enjoy life it's to short we could be gone tomorrow or a friend or family just live and relax and love.

  18. Maybe instead of running you should try to find another form or cardio that you enjoy. Dancing is a fun way to get a good workout! Or maybe try kickboxing? That won't only get your heartrate up, but also work your muscles.

  19. I really recommend listening to the Sounds Like a Cult podcast ep called “the cult of skincare” and Jessica DeFinos writing – really changed my perspective on skincare and the beauty industry and allowed me to better accept my own skin
